So things have been crazy at the Briscoe house. We get up at 6am and wear out at 11pm. Riley is a doll and is so much fun when she is cooing at you! However at 3am when she starts crying because of her cold, it's a little harder to be all smiles with her. (I said a littler harder not impossible). Mandi and I did a middle school retreat with Garr Christian Academy 2 weeks ago. I know, I know! It sure is taking me a long time to get to blogging about it, but better late then never right? Anyways, I was going to kick off the school year with the youth on a High School Musical theme. You know how spiritual that movie is! Instead we used it for the retreat. It was a big hit. If you are reading this and you help out with a youth minstry somewhere, I don't mean to brag, but this one is good. I would freely give the outline of topics for you. Anyways all of the kids in my youth group were basically on this retreat so now I got all of them singing "We're all in this together..." and most of the other High School musical songs. So you may ask where is he going with this. Just wait I am getting to what I really want to share. So following this High School musical retreat we did we wanted to give the kids in youth some practical / biblical advise on living Christian lives in school. So last nights sermon I shared about how are lives are like a house with many rooms in it. And when we become a Christian it is like we were picked for Extreme makeover - Home edition. (now you see where the title comes from) It doesn't work if we tell Jesus he can only remodel the bathroom, but don't touch the living room or the bedroom. The house only turns out cool if we say go ahead and tear the whole thing down and build me a house that is really freakin cool! What's funny is I share a message like this with the youth and they think I have it all together and I have already been completely remodeled by God and my house is already Freakin' Cool. But the truth is I talk about things in youth that I am going through and things that I need to work on. So anyway I have made a commitment to give up the house (life) everything in it and all of the walls and let God handle remodeling / decorating it. I'm going to let God send me on a vacation (hopefully Disney Land in Calif) and when I come back I get to yell " Bus driver, Move that Bus!" Then God will reveal my new life with all of the freakin' cool new things in it. Just wait till you see the before and after pictures. Sears will be envious!

(p.s. I look back at this post and I used the word "freakin' " way to much)
